Graham Dorrans and also rangers have reached a mutual agreement to get a stop to the midfielder’s period .
The Gers were joined by the 32-year-old out of Norwich.
However, he had been plagued by injuries throughout his period with the team and made just 23 appearances – just three of which came under Steven Gerrard.
Rangers’ arrangement with Dorrans, who had been coaching with the youth team in recent months, would be similar to one they encountered Kyle Lafferty.
Rangers had been keen before the transfer window closed, to move baseball players, and earlier the deadline of Monday night the team confirmed the death of Joe Dodoo, whose contract had been cancelled by mutual consent.
Two players also left the club as before this summer, Jake Hastie, who arrived at Rangers from Motherwell, transferred to the rest of the season.
Elsewhere, midfielder Jason Holt joined St Johnstone on a loan deal.
