Greater Manchester Police have started an investigation after getting a record of fraud between Bury, after the expulsion in the EFL of the club.
Following C&N Sporting Risk pulled from a proposed takeover the club lost their League One status last week.
In a brief statement, the Greater Manchester force stated:”About 18 June 2019, authorities received a report of fraud between Bury Football Club. No arrests have been made and they’re continuing.”
Sky Sports News understands this investigation isn’t in relation to the whoever owns Steve Dale.
This report was made 1 month prior to Dale reached a company voluntary arrangement with the creditors of all the club to refund 25 per cent of their #9m they were owed.
But this deal depended on the team being permitted to perform this year, something the English Soccer League, concerned about Dale’s ability to finance those debts and the group’s prices, refused to sanction.
This led missing a few deadlines to prove he can meet his obligations sell the club. The EFL expelled in the league and finally ran out of patience.
No arrests have been made so far.
