Eden Hazard admits he’s noticed that Real Madrid fans are more spent at his club Chelsea than supporters.
The 28-year-old Belgium moved to Real for a reported from Chelsea #130m at the summer after seven years in Stamford Bridge.
“I believe that here the lovers are really fans,” stated Hazard, before Wednesday’s Champions League group match against Paris Saint-Germain.
“In England there are not so many lovers, people there like soccer and everyone, young men and women, adults, teenagers, are very interested in their football, but they aren’t so fanatical about their groups.
“At the time I was in Chelsea and we lost, we were frustrated as were the lovers, but I felt it was a tragedy.
“When you’re at Real Madrid, even if it’s my first year, speaking about the fans, then they always expect you to win the Champions League,” he continued.
“That is the reason why I think there is so much expectation placed with this competition and that is why the club has won it more than every other group.”
Hazard patiently waited to get a movement away from Chelsea – he said it could be time – but that did not stop him speaking of his desire while still a Blue to play for Real.
“When I had been at ChelseaI already knew that my dream was to play for [Real Madrid] someday,” he explained.
“I had not expected to play with seven years in Chelsea, but in the end everything went well and I’d the chance to win something every year. I think that’s why I stayed there as long.”
