The MLB is put up using a total of eight games on the plank to get Monday. Among the greatest matchups place for August 19 will be involving the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Both of these teams are right in the mix for the top place. This game will start at about 7:45 PM Eastern time on Monday night.
The Brewers are in third place of the NL Central. Milwaukee is just two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs for the best spot in the branch. The Brewers have lost four of their last six matches, including a loss on Sunday. Milwaukee will look to finish this road trip out.
St. Louis is tied with the Chicago Cubs to the best place in the NL Central this year. The Cardinals have put a listing of 65-57 to this point in this season. St. Louis has won seven of the past nine matches and will look to keep this hot series since they try and make some distance in the top place. The Cardinals will look to start.
The NL Central race would be the tightest in the MLB this year with three teams fighting it out for the guide. The Cardinals and the Brewers both need some wins here within this series, which ought to help amp up the intensity at Monday nights matchup. I expect both teams to come out because they seem to knock their division rival from the very first game of this three-game series.
Both of these teams met up to start off this season in Milwaukee. Christian Yelich struck on a three-run homer that will help lead the Brewers. Paul Goldschmidt had three home runs in the next game. Travis Shaw and Mike Moustakas equally had home runs in the third inning of the game as Milwaukee won 4-2. Christian Yelich hit on a walk-off double in this series last match to provide the Brewers a win.
This seasons next series was on April 15-17 back in Milwaukee. As they took the game 10-7 christian Yelich had two homers for the Brewers. Yelich came out from the second match and struck on the next three-run home run to assist power Milwaukee. Michael Wacha allowed only five hits and 2 runs through six innings as the Cardinals bounced back with a 6-3 victory in the match.
The third and most recent series shifted to St. Louis on April 22-24. The Cardinals rode a seven-run seventh inning at the first game of the collection to a 13-5 win. Paul DeJong struck the go-ahead home run in the second game as St. Louis won 4-3. Marcell Ozuna struck a three-run homer as Adam Wainwright pitched six innings and only allowed four hits and a single run. The Cardinals swept the series with a 5-2 triumph.
The Brewers and the Cardinals have gone. Both of these teams have not fulfilled since April though and a whole lot has changed for the two teams since then. Both of these teams still played lots of close games early in the season and I wouldnt expect anything on Monday nights outing.
Christian Yelich has continued to direct this Brewers group this season. Yelich has got 141 strikes, 41 home runs, 89 RBIs and an OPS of all 1.121 this year. Up 119 hits have been set by mike Moustakas, 30 home runs and 71 RBIs. Lorenzo Cain has 113 strikes and 40 RBIs, while Ryan Braun includes 106 hits and 18 homers. Yasmani Grandal has 99 strikes, 20 home runs and 61 RBIs. Eric Thames orlando Arcia, and Keston Hiura all have double-digit house runs too.
Paul Goldschmidt has had a strong season so far, setting up 119 hits, and 68 RBIs run. Paul DeJong has earned 21 homers, 110 hits and 56 RBIs. Kolten Wong has 44 RBIs with 9 home runs and 104 strikes. Marcell Ozuna has 88 strikes, 22 home runs and 67 RBIs, although Dexter Fowler has made 14 homers and 87 hits. Matt Carpenter has 11 homers and 71 hits.
St. Louis includes a solid hitting lineup, but they arent quite on the level of their Brewers. Milwaukee contains and has among the greatest hitters in Yelich. Theyll need their pitcher to step up to try and slow the Brewers offense on Monday night, although the Cardinals have a good lineup.
Zach Davies will begin on the mound for Milwaukee on Monday night. Davies has an 8-5 record during his 23 starts this season. He has an ERA of 3.74 and a WHIP of 1.394. In which he allowed four runs and seven hits during four innings davies last start came on August 2 against the Chicago Cubs. His last three starts have been tough ones, but he will look to bounce back against St. Louis.
Dakota Hudson will begin at Mondays tilt for the Cardinals. Hudson has got a 3.82 ERA and a WHIP of 1.555 through 25 matches this season. In those 25 games, he has put a listing of 11-6 to get St. Louis. Hudsons last start came against the Kansas City Royals, where he allowed five hits and no runs through six innings.
These two pitchers match up well with each other. Hudson has an overall better record, and it has played much better as of late, however Davies gets got the greater ERA and WHIP. Id await him to break from this slump with this huge divisional game on the line, although davies has three rough begins in a row.
The Brewers and the Cardinals have gone 5-5 against each other this year, but St. Louis is currently 3-0 at home against Milwaukee. I think that the Brewers have a fantastic opportunity to make their first win in St. Louis on Monday night. Milwaukee has a lineup that is hitting and I believe with all the extra days of rest for Davies, hell come out strong on Monday.
BetOnline has St. Louis recorded as a -128 from the cash line. This means that the Cardinals will win this game around 56.1 percent of their time. I feel an important divisional game such as this one needs to be closer to . Both teams need a win in this show, and that I expect them to play. I like the Brewers as underdogs from the first game of the series.
