Catriona Matthew will be hoping to guide Europe to Solheim Cup victory again this past week, six years from securing their most recent victory.
Matthew featured during her nine Solheim Cup appearances as a player on three winning sides, with the Scot famously.
Europe maintained a two-point advantage after the opening afternoon and procured a clean sweep at the Saturday fourballs to shoot a 10.5-5.5 lead into the Sunday singles, in which Matthew faced Gerina Piller.
Anna Nordqvist halved the day’s opening match, while wins Charley Hull, Carlota Ciganda and Caroline Hedwall – who all feature in the 2019 facet – accepted Liselotte Neumann’s group to 14 points and ensured the decoration would return to Europe.
Matthews then enrolled the winning instant holing a four-footer at the final to claim the half-point required for Europe to keep the cup for the first time.
Europe goes on to win the contest by a record-breaking perimeter, claiming seven and a half of the available points to finish a victory.
